Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell, President of Georgia Military College, has been recognized as one of Georgia Trend’s “Georgia 500: Georgia’s Most Influential Leaders” for 2024. This prestigious honor celebrates leaders across the state who are making a significant impact in their communities, industries, and beyond.
A Leader Inspiring the Next Generation
Since becoming President of Georgia Military College in 2013, President Caldwell has dedicated himself to empowering students to excel academically and grow as leaders. Reflecting on this recognition, Caldwell said:
“This honor is not about me but about the incredible community at Georgia Military College. I’m inspired every day by our students, faculty, and staff. Their dedication to character, leadership, and service is what makes GMC a beacon of excellence across Georgia and the nation.”
What Is Georgia Trend’s Georgia 500?

For Lt. Gen. Caldwell, this recognition is another testament to his lifelong commitment to service. Before joining GMC, he served as a U.S. Army Lieutenant General, leading high-profile missions such as the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan and serving as the Commandant of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
