J. D. Felt – (Cotw) Commitment

Georgia Military College Prep School recognizes J. D. Felt for earning the
Character of the Week Award in demonstrating the virtue of Commitment.

“I would like to nominate JD Felt for character of the week for the virtue of commitment. Through no fault of his own, JD missed all of the 4th quarter of his junior year. Therefore, JD had incompletes in all of his junior classes. Starting this year as a senior, JD was faced with the daunting task of taking a full load of senior classes to include Joint Enrollment and my AP Statistics class, as well as completing all of his junior classes so that he could start applying to colleges. He worked with one teacher from each department, one by one, on his own time to complete all required assignments and assessments. By mid-October, he had completed all of his classes except Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry. He started working with me in early November to compete 2 intense chapters of this advanced math course, in addition to what he was having to do for my AP Statistics course. He never complained or gave any indication that what I (or the school) was asking was unreasonable. He truly showed all GMC cadets what is possible with the right attitude, hard work, and dedication. He completed all work by the end of the 1st semester and is now applying for entrance to his colleges of choice. Good luck JD and congratulations. You have what it takes to do well and succeed in any endeavor!”
