GMC Prep Grad Amy Patel Awarded UGA Charter Scholarship

Amy Patel, a 2008 GMC prep school graduate, has been awarded a Charter Scholarship by The University of Georgia. According to a press release from the University of Georgia, “The Charter Scholarship, named to reflect the university’s distinction as the nation’s first state-chartered public university, recognizes first-year students with stellar academic records, leadership and community involvement and a respect for and commitment toward intellectual, social and cultural diversity. The Charter Scholarship is funded by the University of Georgia Foundation.”

Ms. Patel will receive $1,000, in addition to the HOPE Scholarship, which can be renewed for up to three more years if certain academic standards are met. This year’s recipients had an average SAT score of 1394 and their average high school GPA exceeded 4.0.
