Accountants and Auditors
Accountants and auditors prepare and examine financial records.
Human Resources Specialists
Human resources specialists recruit, screen, interview, and place workers. They also handle employee relations, compensation and benefits, and training.
Compensation, Benefits, and Job Analysis Specialists
Compensation, benefits, and job analysis specialists oversee wage and nonwage programs that an organization provides to its employees in return for their work. They also evaluate position descriptions to determine details such as classification and salary.

Concentration Courses

ACC 201 Principles of Accounting I 5qh

This course is a study of the underlying theory and application of financial accounting concepts. It includes the study of the accounting cycle, the preparation and interpretation of basic financial statements, and the study of fundamental accounting principles.

Prerequisite: Satisfactory score on the math placement exam or completion of MAT 095 with a grade of “C” or better.

ACC 202 Principles of Accounting II

This course is a study of the underlying theory and application of managerial accounting concepts. It is a continuation of ACC 201 as a decision making tool. It includes introductions to concepts, principles, and procedures used by managers for planning, control, and other business decisions.

Prerequisite: ACC 201.

ECO 201 Macroeconomics

An introduction to the theory of macroeconomics through an examination of the nature and operation of the American economic system. The study will include the economic components of the American and international economy, supply and demand, the circular flow diagram and gross domestic product, fiscal policy, monetary system, and monetary theory and policy.

Prerequisite: Satisfactory score on the math placement exam or completion of MAT 094 with a grade of “C” or better.

CIS 110 Introduction to Computer Concepts and Applications

A multi-faceted course including an overview of computer architecture, an overview of digital security, ethical issues in computing, application software (including word processing, electronic spreadsheet, presentation, and database software) to facilitate business productivity. In addition, the student will use a hands-on approach to develop algorithms and multimedia computer programs using an object-oriented, graphically-driven, programming language using common programming data structures and event driven tasks. This course will have an emphasis on the development of algorithmic and critical thinking skills.

Prerequisite: Satisfactory score on the math placement exam or completion of 095 with a grade of “C” or better.
