April – Attitude of Gratitude: Healthcare Professionals

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE – APRIL SPOTLIGHT:
Healthcare Professionals

In March, the world as we knew it changed. The COVID-19 outbreak has impacted Georgia Military College in how it delivers education and supports students.

As this crisis was unfolding, one group we turned to for guidance was the dedicated staff of our Georgia Military College Health Services family: Wendy Smith, RN, Tabatha Gillis, LPN, Kimberly Pope, LPN, and Cheri Fulmer, Admin.

Throughout all the uncertainty that comes with the national and state Coronavirus response, our Health Services team has been there to assist our campuses, and more specifically our students, faculty, staff, and parents with any questions or concerns regarding the virus.
They have been working diligently to get us timely and accurate information and communicating that information very well.
We are in the midst of unprecedented times not only at GMC but across the United States, and we’re extremely grateful to our Health Services team for getting us the information to keep ourselves, our students and our families safe.

Our GMC health services team represents a small fraction of the other countless people at doctor’s offices, urgent care facilities, hospitals, and all emergency services that are working tirelessly to assist in COVID-19 efforts.
Many are working longer hours, longer weeks than normal, some even traveling to other states to assist. They’re sacrificing not only time with their own families, but their own safety. Each day they put themselves on the front line to protect us.
For that we will be forever grateful.

Please do take the time to stop and thank a healthcare professional when you see one, especially our Health Services Team at GMC. They deserve all the recognition and thanks from all of us, especially during this time period!

Stay safe and wash your hands!
