GMC signs Memorandum of Understanding with NVMI

Georgia Military College and North Valley Military Institute Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Georgia Military College (GMC) and North Valley Military Institute (NVMI), of Sun Valley, Ca., signed a Memorandum of Understanding that establishes a formal academic transfer mechanism between GMC and NVMI. Its purpose is so that any student who graduates from NVMI with a general, college preparatory or technical diploma is guaranteed admission into GMC provided that the student meets the agreement requirements. This is the second Memorandum of Understanding that GMC has signed this year – the first with Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga.

This agreement formally recognizes that GMC and NVMI are committed to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve currently enrolled and future students at both institutions. Both parties agree to exercise due diligence in providing as smooth a transition as possible for students who elect to attend GMC following graduation from NVMI.

Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, President of GMC, says this agreement broadens the scope of opportunity for NVMI students to pursue their higher education at GMC.

“We are thrilled to launch this partnership with North Valley Military Institute,” Caldwell said. “This agreement provides NVMI graduates another pathway to obtain a college degree – having the ability to either continue to pursue higher education at another four-year university, to continue at GMC to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree, or to go out into the world and begin to work in their chosen field. The opportunities created from having a GMC degree are endless and we’re excited to share that with graduates from North Valley Military Institute.”

Superintendent of NVMI, Dr. Mark P. Ryan, says he wants the agreement with GMC to inspire NVMI students to pursue higher education after graduating from NVMI.

“Providing these amazing opportunities for our Cadets expands their horizons and futures in very powerful ways,” Ryan said. “We are thrilled that Georgia Military College and NVMI are able to give students such incredible opportunities.”

The Memorandum of Understand between GMC and NVMI goes into effect immediately.
