GMC Cadets Participate in Make A Difference Day

Last weekend, Georgia Military College’s Corps of Cadets participated in Make A Difference Day. Each year, GMC looks for new ways to help the community and make a difference in the lives of the citizens of Milledgeville and Baldwin County. This year, GMC’s college cadets volunteered at the Georgia War Veterans home.

GMC cadets helped set up for the Georgia War Veterans Home Fall Festival, where Veterans participated in games, activities, and a barbeque. The cadets spent time getting to know the Veterans and learned about their service to the country, and also shared their plans for life after GMC.

“It’s about providing opportunities for our cadets to interact with the community and understand the importance of being a Servant Leader,” said Colonel Steve Pitt, Commandant of the GMC Corps of Cadets. “Our Veterans have sacrificed so much for this great nation and our cadets learn valuable lessons as they listened to the stories these Veterans told, and become America’s next generation of leaders.”

Pitt says each of the cadets enjoyed their time at the Georgia War Veterans Home.
