GMC JC Athletics completes an undefeated week

GMC JC Athletics completes an undefeated week
JC Athletics Week in Review: 

GMC JC football finished off an undefeated week for the JC Bulldogs on Staff/Faculty Appreciation Night with a convincing 81-7 win over Middle Georgia State College on Saturday night at Davenport Field.  It was a fitting conclusion to a great start to the season for our Athletic teams.  Earlier in the week the Women’s Soccer team opened their season with a win over Wesleyan College (Macon, Ga) 4-0 followed by another convincing win over University of South Carolina-Salkehatchie 5-0 on Friday night on Robertson Field to run their record to 2-0 on the season.  The JC Men’s Soccer program opened up their season as well this past week on Friday night  with a close win against University of South Carolina-Salkehatchie 1-0.  All athletic programs are will be in full swing this week as the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country team heads across town to start their season at GCSU.

Week in Preview:
Tuesday, September 1st-Both of GMC JC Soccer programs will be on the pitch as they look to continue the good play early in the year.  The Women’s Soccer team will compete in their first road game of the year as they travel to Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College to kick off at 5pm.  The Men’s Soccer team will continue their home stand with Thomas University coming to town for a scheduled 5pm start to the match. 

Wednesday, September 2nd-The GMC Reserve Women’s Soccer team will play their match against RYSA Revolution.  The game is slated to start at 7pm.

Friday, September 4th-The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country team look to get their season started by traveling across town to compete in GCSU’s meet.  The start times will be 6:15pm for the Women and 7pm for the Men.  This will mark their first meet of the year.  It’s a busy day for GMC JC athletics as both the Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs are back in action.  The Men will host Point University at Robertson Field at 6pm while the Women will hit the road again against South Georgia State for a scheduled 5pm start.

Saturday, September 5th-To wrap up the week, the 15th ranked GMC JC Football team will take its 2-0 record on the road to Texas to play Kilgore College at 2pm.  Stay tuned for additional information later in the week  for broadcast information.
