Each year, the General Douglas MacArthur Foundation presents the MacArthur Cadet Award to the outstanding cadets of the Association of Military Colleges and Schools.  The objective is to encourage the students of member institutions to emulate and practice the qualities exemplified by Douglas MacArthur as a cadet at the West Texas Military Institute and at the United States Military Academy.  The criterion for the award is the most soldierly performance by a senior class cadet considering academics, athletics, and leadership.  The award consists of a check, a uniform pin, an engraved MacArthur Medal and a copy of the book, The General.  This year’s Junior College award was presented to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Joshua Hall.  The Prep School award was presented to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Liam Fairbrass.  Mr. Fairbrass has accepted an appointment to the Military Academy at West Point.

Georgia Military College is a member of the Association of Military Colleges and School in the United States (AMCSUS).  This national association named Prep School Cadet Captain Taylore Brooks as the 2015 Leadership Award recipient.  Each year, 43 military colleges and schools compete for this prestigious award based on a student’s leadership, service to others, character, academics and athletics.  The award includes an etched glass plaque, a letter of commendation from the Association and a check for $500.
