In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we know many students are facing tough challenges. Georgia Military College is here for you, and we are doing everything we can to ensure no one is left behind. We have plans to provide extensions and support for those affected with the goal of completing the term. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we’ll be flexible and supportive as we move forward. As Quarter 1 ends, we remain committed to your success, so please check here regularly for updates as we monitor recovery efforts. For those who cannot make it to campus, GMC will make every effort to work with you individually. Additionally, we are closely monitoring the development and potential impact of Hurricane Milton. At this time, the storm’s path is being tracked carefully, and there is no immediate cause for alarm in our area. However, we want to ensure that you are prepared and informed in case the situation changes. Your safety is our top priority, and we will communicate any necessary actions promptly on our website, through email, text, and social media as necessary. Learn More

Super Wednesday to be held Sept. 10

On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, Georgia Military College will welcome the newest members of the 136th Corps of Cadets, during the annual event called Super Wednesday.  The first-time junior college cadets will begin in-processing in the Kidd Center where they will be introduced to representatives of Admissions, Military Science, and Academic Support.

While there, the Office of Student Activities, which coordinates and sponsors the event, will showcase campus offerings to include intramural activities, special events, and various campus organizations and clubs.  Local banking institutions, businesses and organizations, to include faith-based groups, will be represented in Kidd Center to welcome the families to the area and offer gifts, invitations, and information about their services.

Once the in-processing steps are completed, the women and men are welcomed into the battalion, receive their room assignment and a GMC ID Card in Baugh Barracks, and by that evening, the plebe-period officially begins.

For additional information about Super Wednesday, or volunteering to be a participant, please contact Celes Mason in the Office of Student Activities at Georgia Military College, 478-387-4718.
