I would like to nominate Lance Austin for character of the week. I took my sixth grade character education class downtown to visit “Scoops” ice cream parlor on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007. As the students entered, they were all very anxious and excited to get served. However, Lance Austin politely backed up and allowed all the girls to be served first. I was most impressed by this young man’s manners as well as his self discipline.
