GMC HEAD COACH ASSUMES NATIONAL POSITION

Bert Williams’ job list grew a bit after the July Fourth holidays as he officially assumed the office of President of the NJCAA Football Coaches Association. Coach Williams was voted into office initially in 2004 at the Football Coaches Association National Convention as the association’s Secretary and has moved up the ranks in a relatively short period of time. He moved into the Vice President’s role in 2005 before assuming the office of President in 2007.

“It is certainly a distinct honor to be voted into office by your peers and to have the responsibility to represent them and our great game of football at the national level. The association has made great strides in the last five years working with the NJCAA national office, the NCAA, and the AFCA to improve our game and create more and better opportunities for our student athletes. There are several things I hope to accomplish in my term as President of the association that I think will continue to propel our profession and junior college football in a positive direction,” commented Coach Williams.
