Columbus Campus Named a Military Friendly School

Georgia Military College Columbus Campus Named a Military Friendly School After years of research, the G.I. Jobs magazine, a veteran owned business, has named Georgia Military College Columbus Campus as a Military Friendly School for 2011. This honor ranks College in the top 15 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools which are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students. The Georgia Military College Columbus Campus was chosen as a Military Friendly School for its policies, efforts to recruit and retain active duty military, military family member and veteran student, and its academic accreditation. Some Georgia Military College Columbus Campus’ military friendly policies are providing active duty military and military family member students with books to use during the term at no charge and waiving all student fees including the application fee. Also, the College has an admissions assistant stationed on Ft. Benning to assist active duty military and their family member with the enrollment process, answer questions regarding Georgia Military College, Tuition Assistance (TA), and to assist soldiers in navigating and registering on the GoArmyEd web site. Georgia Military College, the only public liberal arts junior college located in Columbus, is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees. Some of the majors offered are business administration, criminal justice, education, homeland security, pre-nursing, and psychology. Enrollment for the Fall 2010 term is currently underway. For further information visit the campus in midtown, 2601B Cross Country Dr, or contact admissions at (706) 478-3146.
