Youth football camp set for June

Bert Williams youth football camp set for June

(Milledgeville) – Area youth football players wanting to get a leg up on the competition will have an opportunity to do so in June when the 2nd Annual Bert Williams Junior Bulldog Day Camp kicks off on the campus of Georgia Military College.

The camp, scheduled for June 15-19, is aimed at improving basic football skills.

“I want to focus on fundamental development at all positions for all campers,” said Bert Williams, head junior college football coach and athletic director at GMC. “I want to help instill a healthy sense of competitiveness in our campers and emphasize at all times the sportsmanship, fun, and excitement that comes from playing football at every level.”

Each session of camp will begin with a roll call just after 9 a.m. Stretching, offensive and defensive clinics, video seminars, and competitions will fill the day.

“I feel like this is something that will benefit our community and develop some excitement for playing football with our local youth,” Williams said. “I think every camper will truly enjoy the experience.”

Any football player age 7 to 14 is encouraged to attend. Cost for the camp is $125 per camper. For more information, call Rob Manchester at (478) 445-2696 or e-mail rmanches@gmc.cc.ga.us.
