In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we know many students are facing tough challenges. Georgia Military College is here for you, and we are doing everything we can to ensure no one is left behind. We have plans to provide extensions and support for those affected with the goal of completing the term. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we’ll be flexible and supportive as we move forward. As Quarter 1 ends, we remain committed to your success, so please check here regularly for updates as we monitor recovery efforts. For those who cannot make it to campus, GMC will make every effort to work with you individually. Additionally, we are closely monitoring the development and potential impact of Hurricane Milton. At this time, the storm’s path is being tracked carefully, and there is no immediate cause for alarm in our area. However, we want to ensure that you are prepared and informed in case the situation changes. Your safety is our top priority, and we will communicate any necessary actions promptly on our website, through email, text, and social media as necessary. Learn More

Library Resources

2024 Schedule

The Georgia Military College (GMC) Library supports students and faculty by providing access to library services through its collections and arrangements with community resources consistent with the degrees offered by this institution. The mission of the GMC Library is to ensure that students, faculty, and staff have access to and are able to be effective users of information. The GMC Library will provide curriculum-centric materials on the level of its reading public, will make available to all students, faculty, and staff the resources of the library, will assist in the use of these materials, will provide access to materials not located in the library, and will provide opportunities designed to foster lifelong learning.

GMC Library facilities include the 13,000-square-foot main Sibley-Cone Library at the Milledgeville campus and six libraries at our other campuses. The six additional campus libraries located in Augusta, Columbus, Fairburn, Fayetteville, Valdosta, and Warner Robins are extensions of the Sibley-Cone Library. The Online, Madison, and Sandersville campuses are supported by the Sibley-Cone Library. The Dublin and Eastman campuses are supported by the Warner Robins campus library. The Stone Mountain campus is supported by the Fairburn campus library. Each additional campus library provides internet access to all online library resources and is staffed by paraprofessionals who assist students, faculty, and staff with the use of library resources. The Augusta and Columbus campuses are bring-your-own-device spaces and all GMC libraries are BYOD friendly.

The print collection in the Sibley-Cone Library contains over 36,000 volumes. The full-text, electronic books available online add an additional 90,000 academic titles. The periodical collection includes journals, magazines, and newspapers principally in online databases. Database collections include GALILEO, Gale, ABC-CLIO, Facts-on-File, and JSTOR. GMC students, faculty, and staff can remotely access GMC’s electronic resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer with Internet access using the current database password. The GMC Library Homepage and Library Guides provide links to library resources, services, and contact information for all campus libraries. For assistance from the GMC Library staff, call, email, or visit your campus library.  For research questions, the library offers Ask A Librarian chat service on the Library Homepage and Library Guides on the library homepage.
