Georgia Military College Junior College Alumni selected in NFL Draft

Georgia Military College Junior College Alumni selected in NFL Draft

 Georgia Military College (GMC) is proud to announce that three alumni will be playing football in the National Football League (NFL.) Byron Young and Yaya Diaby, were selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft and Trevor Reid has signed as an Undrafted Free Agent.

Byron Young, a Defensive End was selected by the Los Angeles Rams with the 77th overall pick and Yaya Diaby, a Defensive End, was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 82nd overall pick. Trevor Reid, though not selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Offensive Tackle from University of Louisville, and GMC Football Alumni, has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an Undrafted Free Agent for the 2023-2024 season.

As GMC enters its 32nd year of the Junior College Football program. GMC has had 54 Junior College Football players make it to the NFL.  Young, Diaby and Reid will be joining former GMC JC Football players, now NFL players, Neville Hewitt with the Houston Texans, Trent Brown with the New England Patriots, and Dennis Daley with the Tennessee Titans. In addition to the GMC JC Football coaches, now NFL coaches, Tony Gilbert with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Eric Henderson with the LA Rams. Coach Henderson is the Rams Defensive Line/Run Game Coordinator and will be coaching Byron Young!

He was a tremendous player for us and always gave his best effort. We wish them all the best as they embark on this next chapter of their lives.”
